Medicare Supplement Plans 2021 – From 2020 To 2021, What Are The Important Dates To Remember

Now that you know about Medicare supplement plans 2021, please take some time off and note down these important dates in your diary. This could be your only chance to change the nature of the coverage that you now have. You need to weigh your options before making these changes; it, therefore, follows that you cannot make these changes if you don’t know what they are all about and how they could impact your spending on healthcare. In today’s pandemic ridden world, you have no choice but to be extremely cautious in the company you keep and the distances you travel. You never know what or who may carry the virus and contaminate your body, leaving you vulnerable and closer to death than you have ever been.

Two Dates In 2020

The first date to remember in 2020 is October 1st. From this date on, please start doing a comparison between your current policy of coverage with the other options that are available to you. You could save some money or be able to get some extra paybacks. The second date or rather the second period to remember in 2020 is from the 15th of October to the 7th of December. This is the period that you have at your disposal to make the change that you wish to. Either you could enrol for an Original Medicare plan or you could sign up for a Medicare Advantage plan or make a change to the existing Advantage plan.

Two Dates In 2021

The first one to remember is the 1st of January 2021 – this is when your new coverage plan kicks in; that is if you have made a change. If you have made some minor changes to your existing plan, then the validity of these changes will start on this date. The period to remember in 2021 is from the 1st of January to the 21st of March 2021. This period is relevant for those who already have an Advantage plan. You can make changes to the existing one or change to a whole new Advantage plan within this period. All changes will go into operation on the first day of the month after your plan request has been received.

Keeping track of dates is certainly not easy; with healthcare or Medicare plans, you really have to be on your toes and stay abreast of the changes in policies, benefits and so on.
